DEAR AGENT ORANGE

Dear Agent Orange
We met so many years ago
A soldier and kid
Trying to survive and make it home
Didn’t know you played for keeps
Lying in wait inside of me
Dear Agent Orange
In country so many children cry
The ones that survived
And those that you barely left alive
Though their future is unsure
As a people we’ll endure
Now it seems our leaders knew about you
No one cared about the damage you’d do
No matter what they said you were for
You were a weapon of war
Dear Agent Orange
You showed no favorites raining down
Neither friend nor foe
Turning everything to brown
Now your legacy is told
Here you remain body and soul
Dear Agent Orange
Dear Agent Orange
Dear Agent Orange
Here you remain body and soul
